Sometime ago (about 6-8 months ago), there was news that Maruti was considering bringing the Sport version of Swift to India witout altering it much, just that the wheel dimensions could get reduced from 16″ to 15″ and be shod with 195/60 R15 tyres. Else, the variant was expected to be exactly similar to its foreign siblings. The vehicle boasts of a 125 bhp, 1.6 L engine which has a higher power to weight ratio than the Skoda Octavia RS and can beat it in a 0-100 kmph sprint. The model was even supposed to include Sparco seats.

Last month, I heard that Skoda when it brings in its Fabia would get the 140 bhp RS variant along as well. I love the Ocatvia RS and dream of owning it some day, but if they bring in the Fabia RS, I will buy it immediately - provided it behaves exactly the way one would expect Ocatvia RS’s younger sibling to and is more charged up than the Swift Sport.
Will we only be hearing about these cars or will we actually get to drive them on our roads?

Chinese government is tidying up their cities for the forthcoming Olympics to be held in China in 2008. One of the activities which it has undertaken is to get rid of the spitting menace, something which I had blogged about earlier.
Today, I discovered another. They have decided to correct all their english signboards to make them sound more meaningful.
You’ve heard and seen Hinglish .. Now, see Chinglish. (No mockery intended)

No .. I am not going to tell you how to get creative on Valentine’s day nor am I sharing the perfect order of how things should be.
The elements that make up the title of this post are not just what they are, but they are also the names of towns / cities in the United States.
If that was not enough, you have Pissen and Kissing in Germany, Fucking in Austria and Condom in France.
You Bet ! (That’s the name of a town as well!)
You can see the complete list of weird names here.

A lady driver in Boston crashed her car while backing up. Nothing new .. nothing surprising. But, what was really surprising was the cause of the accident. Apparently, she had so much trash in her car that some of it fell over the gas pedal and brakes that she lost control of her car and rammed into flowerpots and dividers. Thankfully, there were no casualties and no one was injured.

Whew !! How lazy can people get?

CNN-IBN has this news article that contains snippets of an inteview with Sania Mirza where she’s said:
“When Indian fans get the opportunity to watch me, they seem to get very excited”
I agree .. I get quite excited seeing her too. But, wouldn’t it have been better if she could have said this?
“When Indian fans get the opportunity to watch my game, they seem to get very excited”
