January 24, 2007
Sify Business reports that Maruti has launched the diesel variant of the Swift.
The introductory price of the two versions ‘LDi’ and ‘VDi’ are Rs 4.68 lakh and 4.96 lakh respectively, ex showroom Delhi.
Swift Diesel is powered by a new generation 1.3 litre engine with five injection technology. It delivers a power of 75 bhp.
I knew this was coming, but didn’t realize it would be here so soon. Where is the diesel Getz, Hyundai guys?

Hi,
Hear Swift Diesel has been reported with some engine problems in Delhi and the company has delayed the despatch of further consignments to its dealers for next 3 months. Is it true?

Not sure, never heard anything on those lines.
What kind of problems are these? When Honda launched the civic, even that had a problem with the way the engine was mounted, there was some rattling, which was fixed. Is it something on the same lines .. or something major?
The engine which Swift Diesel has is a Fiat engine .. Probably, it is on the same lines as that of the Civic. dunno. just thinking aloud.

Hi,
I own a Swift Diesel and I have been having problem on excessive Engine Vibration when Idle (On no load). This Vibration occurs periodically for a short duration of time. This vibration stops if you load the car either with AC or start driving it in 1st Gear. Maruti has seen the problem and they are yet to resolve this issue. Otherwise the car is superb.
