Cashless Carnival

Reuters reports that the taxi drivers in Shanghai will be given “spit sacks” which they can hang to a mesh near the driver’s cabin which will help both the drivers and passengers to spit in it instead of dirtying the roads. Eeks .. doesn’t sound very hygenic, but definitely a good initiative to keep the city clean.

Why can’t our guys consider such a thing as well? I am sure, the menace out here is much bigger than in China, thanks to our indigenous product called paan. I was told that a builder in Hyderabad was so pissed with the spitting syndrome that he decided to post pictures of deities at every corner of his building to prevent people from spitting. Not sure, if it helped .. but it definitely was a creative approach.
